Number 2
"Torso of Venus" is a bronze sculpture created by Aristide Mahillo. The piece was inspired by Greek and Roman sculptures. It is intentionally missing its head and limbs, mimicking the ancient Greek and Roman statues that have lost theses body parts. The sculpture also borrows the ancient Greek contrapposto positioning. The lines of the sculpture's shoulders contrast the lines of its hips, giving it an asymmetrical balance. This piece was found in the Columbus Museum of Art.
